Genesis tanks, originally spelled “Genisis” take their name from the term “Genial Simpler Siebdampfer” which means “ingeniously simple mesh steamer” or “awesomely simple mesh steamer”.
A Genesis Tank, Genny Tank, or Genesis Atty was once a popular style of rebuildable that seems to have faded into obscurity now. Genesis rebuildables had extended positive pins coming through the middle of the build deck, sometimes with sprung mounting hardware to allow easy coiling. Negative posts were normally as simple as screws with washers laying flat on the build deck itself. Stainless steel mesh wicks were a common sight on genesis tanks.
