[Pronunciation:/drʌɪ/hɪt/]

A dry hit refers to the uncomfortable or unpleasant sensation and taste when an atomizer’s wick has already, or will soon become, completely out of e-liquid and is dry. The flavor created by a dry burn is very unpleasant, but the worst part is the burning sensation in the throat which can be common among users of drippers who aren’t paying enough attention.

It’s hard to express just how uncomfortable dry hits can be in writing so just trust me when I say you want to avoid them. All you have to do to avoid dry hits, make sure you refill your tank or cartomizer before they run dry and make sure you redrip often enough if using a dripper. If you’re using a RDTA or RTA, make sure you have adequate juice flow for the coils, wattage, and puffing frequency you intend to use to avoid running dry and getting a dry hit.

Currently located in Sydney, Australia, I have been vaping since 2009 and became active in the e-cigarette industry in late 2015. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of visiting over 700 shops in 6 countries.
