JUUL Has Landed In The U.K.!
The world’s most famous – yet controversial – vape company, JUUL, has finally landed in the second largest market in the world: the United Kingdom.
JUUL, a Silicon Valley start-up that now accounts for nearly 70-percent of tracked e-cigarette sales, has landed in the UK this week. This will surely be a godsend for U.K. vapers, travelers, and people looking to kick the habit with a product that truly satisfies and simulates the sensation of smoking.
Since its launch in 2015, JUUL has become a household name due to its popularity and success in reshaping the industry from somewhat “heavy machinery” to non-invasive, simple, sleek, and effective USB-like nicotine delivery systems.
“JUUL has enabled more than one million adult smokers to replace cigarettes, and we want to continue to offer meaningful options to adult smokers who want to end their relationship with combustible cigarettes,” said JUUL Labs Chief Executive Officer Kevin Burns. “JUUL Labs wants to meet the needs and preferences of adult smokers who are on their journey to switching from cigarettes, and we hope the availability of different nicotine strengths will continue to allow adult smokers the ability to explore what is best for them.”
Recently JUUL (San Francisco-based company) raised $650 million in equity financing as part of an investment round aimed at $1.25 billion. Sources have said the round would be completed by the end of July, valuing JUUL at more than $15 billion.
Sadly, with widespread popularity comes extreme scrutiny, as the use of the JUUL – or as public officials call it, “JUULING” – has become increasingly popular among teenagers in the US. Although many initiatives by JUUL continue to go unnoticed, they last month announced a new comprehensive strategy to combat underage use.
This week’s launch of JUUL will see the product hit 250 stores around the UK. As for the product itself, adjustments have been made to comply with TPD regulations lowering the nicotine content of its pods to 20mg, as opposed to the 59mg of nicotine in the original US pods.
Which bares the question: will the UK-modified JUUL be as effective and satisfying as its American counterpart?
The UK continues to lead the race not only in regulations but also in offering its people products that most of world still continues to shun.
Exciting times ahead as the company looks to expand throughout Asia and Europe, and a big congratulations to JUUL on all of their success.
