Ghost Pod System

User impressions of the Ghost pod system:

Vaping on the Ghost is truly a pleasure, especially for those seeking to quit smoking – since it replicates a cigarette’s draw characteristics very closely. Flavour reproduction is excellent…we’d give it 9 out of 10 on that score, and there’s also a very satisfying throat hit. The draw is not as tight as some units, like the myJET for example, but as a result the Ghost produces slightly more vapor.

The Ghost unit itself sports a sleek, lightweight design with a nice matte finish. The pods are designed to be refillable, and replacement pods are reasonably priced at about $10 for a pack of 3. We generally find the pods last about 5 or 6 refills before needing to be trashed. Alas, there are no viable hacking possibilities for these pods as they are completely sealed at the coil end. Ghost pods are optimized for 70% VG, and the advantage of this is zero leakage. We’ve been using the Ghost for many months now on a regular basis using 70/30 juice mixes, and we’ve never detected even a single drop of juice at the terminals.

Refilling the pods is pretty easy, although the silicon filler plug can be a bit fiddly to remove. Unless you have taken the trouble of honing at least one fingernail and the opposing thumbnail to a razor edge, you’re probably going to need tweezers to pull the plug. The filling port itself is very small, and not all juice bottle nozzles will fit comfortably. For example the ever popular Chubby Gorilla nozzles are a shade too big for the Ghost, but the problem is easily solved by installing a 1.8mm needle (the one with the green base) over the top of the nozzle.

Pod maintenance

If you notice any gurgling after the pod has been refilled, it’s probably because some juice has accumulated in the base of the chimney near the coil end. You can easily clear this by holding the unit with the pod facing out and flicking your wrist several times. If you give it a few sharp flicks like this, the centripetal force will quickly clear the tube. Also, whenever refilling the pods, make sure you remove the felt spatter guard from under the cap and dry it. This can be done by simply squeezing it in a paper towel. Once dry, reinstall with tweezers.
