While there currently does not appear to be any regulations or restrictions on e-cigarettes in the Dominican Republic there are many reports online that e-cigarette equipment is being confiscated from luggage without any explanation when entering and leaving the country.
Although there is no legal basis for confiscation, we recommend that you do not take any expensive equipment with you into the Dominican Republic as the likelihood of these items being confiscated is high.
If you choose to bring equipment with you we recommend that you email Punta Cana International Airport at email@example.com. People have received written responses from airport security explaining that there is no restriction on e-cigarettes, which you could show to customs if issues arise.
There are currently a small number of retail stores in the Dominican Republic where you can buy temporary products for your stay.
