The recent Executive Order (EO 26) on the nationwide smoking ban in all public places does not cover e-cigarettes, as it does not include them in its definition of smoking and tobacco products.
Currently, the use and purchase of e-cigarettes appears to be legal in the Philippines, and there is a thriving vaping scene and a large number of retail stores to be found throughout the country.
Although, the Department of Health has very recently said that it is proposing a standalone vaping ban in all public indoor spaces where smoking is banned, as per the World Health Organization’s (WHO) advisory.
