A decision by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection bans the sale and marketing of e-cigarettes and electronic shisha, although use and possession is currently not prohibited.
The Royal Oman Police issued a statement last year stating that they do not arrest people for smoking e-cigarettes.
“It is not a crime to vape here,” the official asserted.
Travelers have also commented that bringing e-cigarette products into the country in luggage or on their person has not posed an issue.
Although the sale and distribution of e-cigarette products is prohibited and attracts substantial fines, there is a thriving black market of products available throughout the country. We will not list these locations, but both retail and online establishments can be found easily via a Google search.
