The import, sale, distribution, possession and use of e-cigarettes, its components and liquids is banned entirely in Indonesia.
Although, as you can see on the map, this has not stopped Indonesia from having a thriving vaping scene. Vape stores can be found on nearly every corner, and personal reports have stated that local authorities seem to have no issues with people using their devices in public, nor are you likely to run into trouble while bringing e-cigarette products through customs in your luggage or on your person.
Having said that, all of the above practices are highly illegal and we advise that you abide by all current laws and regulations.
If you choose otherwise, we urge you to use caution when dealing with e-cigarettes in any manner while traveling into Indonesia and while inside the country. Local authorities are well-known to have a large element of corruption, and you may find yourself having a substandard day if you’re unlucky.
