Brief Overview

The tobacco control law classifies nicotine-containing e-cigarettes as derivative products, meaning they share similar restrictions to cigarettes in regards to usage and possession.

The law forbids provision to minors (under 18 years), advertising and promotion, and prohibits smoking/vaping in public places/transport outside of designated areas. These laws also apply to non-nicotine e-cigarettes.

Togo became a Party to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control on February 13, 2006.

Smoke Free Places: Smoking is prohibited in all indoor public places, indoor workplaces, and means of public transport except in hotels, restaurants, bars, public bus stations, ferry terminals, ship terminals, railroad stations, and air terminals, where designated smoking areas are permitted.
